redwood & gold wedding bands
connected to the land
“We wanted the symbols of our marriage to be meaningful, embody the spirit of our relationship and represent the light that illumined the way for us as we grew closer. Being a part of the design process helped us create a vision of how these bands could be those symbols. Initial conversations with Vedad were about the qualities of our relationship, the symbols, stories, words, and moments that defined our relationship, and further conversations revealed how it all might be represented with simplicity and beauty.
Roses being a common motif in our conversations, prayers, art, and music as a couple, we eventually decided on engraving them into the bands. Vedad gave us the chance to share work that was meaningful to us, and in consultation create new designs that brought to life what we were beginning to envision. With Vedad's inspiration, we decided to fill the engraved petals of the roses with redwood from Bosch Bahá'í School, where we met. This, along with the elegance with which the bands were crafted, culminated in the spiritual, beautiful symbols of our marriage.”
